September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and represents an annual opportunity for supporters nationwide to focus on and raise awareness of the challenges of
childhood cancer, the leading cause of death by disease for America's children.
Childhood Cancer Awareness Ribbon
The gold ribbon is the symbol of childhood cancer awareness, representing our children as follows:- It is a precious metal, as our children are precious.
- It is the flame of hope.
- It is the purity of our children's hearts.
The "Angel" gold ribbon honors those children who have died from cancer. The gold ribbon campaign was inspired by Kelsey Nicole Thorson, 1989 - 1996.
